Project Overview

DePalma Creative worked with our agency client to help DoorDash, a leading food delivery service, create a series of short films showcasing the success stories of various restaurants that benefited from their partnership. The key advantage for these restaurants was DoorDash's assumption of delivery responsibilities, allowing them to focus on their core business. DoorDash also collaborated with restaurants to streamline their menus, making it easier for customers to understand their offerings. Additionally, DoorDash initiated an Accelerator program aimed at empowering small and early-stage consumer packaged goods businesses, offering grants, business education, and the opportunity to feature their products in DashMart, DoorDash's grocery store concept.

CREATIVE EXECUTION:

DePalma Creative took on the responsibility of bringing these restaurant success stories to life. The project spanned diverse locations, including Buffalo and various NYC boroughs, each with its unique charm and challenges. In the pre-production phase, meticulous location scouting and securing permits were paramount to ensure seamless production.

TECHNICAL APPROACH:

DePalma Creative assembled a dedicated team of nine crew members who executed each aspect of the project. The team's creative vision called for a dynamic visual approach, encompassing a range of equipment. An FX3 on a gimbal was used for fluid moving shots, following the talent as they interacted with the restaurants. A handheld camera rig added a run-and-gun feel to capture spontaneous moments. To provide a first-person perspective, a GoPro was mounted on a bicycle delivery person and inside the delivery vehicle, giving viewers an immersive experience. A drone was employed to capture DoorDash drivers in action, city skylines, and the inviting facades of the partner restaurants. In addition to video, a still photographer was on hand to capture striking images throughout the production process. By strategically planning the elements in the pre-production phase, DePalma Creative maintained control over the complex logistics of this multi-location shoot.
